Peter Co

Originally from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Peter received his Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry with honours from Lakehead University, Thunder Bay, Ontario in 2002.  His undergraduate thesis in international forestry law sparked his interest in the legal field.  After graduation Peter worked as a forester for Pacific Gas & Electric and San Diego Gas & Electric in southern California until he enrolled in California Western School of Law in 2007 to pursue his interest in law. 

While at law school, Peter was an active member of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association and was a law clerk for the Honorable Robert C. Coates, San Diego Superior Court Judge, for the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program, and for Goldsmith & Guymon, P.C.  During his first year of law school Peter received an Academic Achievement award for obtaining the highest grade in his Property class and was on the Dean’s Honor List for fall 2008, spring 2009, and fall 2009.

After obtaining his J.D. Peter has been with Goldsmith & Guymon, P.C.  practicing in estate planning, guardianship, probate/trust administration and litigation, bankruptcy and family law.  Peter is an active member of the Clark County Bar Association, Asian Pacific American Bar Association, Asian Chamber of Commerce, Southern Nevada Association of Bankruptcy Attorneys and Probate and Trust Section of the Nevada State Bar.  He has volunteered with the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada in their ask-a-lawyer program and taken on pro bono cases in guardianship, bankruptcy, the children’s attorney project and has been in their pro bono project 50 hours club for the three past consecutive years.  Peter’s extracurricular interests include running marathons, surfing and cross-country and alpine skiing.
